In particular, we are interested in receiving articles that:

  • offer new ways to theorize Professional Development in Islamic Education;
  • pose challenging questions about current research and practice, as well as the fundamental assumptions about Islamic education;
  • offer critical and analytical perspectives on Professional Development in Islamic Education policies and governance;
  • investigate structures that allow the reproduction of inappropriate, unjust, or ineffective Professional Development in Islamic Education practices;
  • offer new ways to understand how Professional Development in Islamic Education can improve the lives of educators and, ultimately, their learners.

Our motto is 'more than just a journal,' and the Editorial Board strives to realize this through active engagement in Professional Development in Islamic Education networks, supporting and organizing symposia and events, encouraging dialogue with leading scholars in Professional Development in Islamic Education, and actively contributing to the mentoring and development of new scholars in this field.
